Justin's Story
This mission is personal
In loving memory of Justin
Jennifer met Justin while doing outreach work with the local homeless community. He was one of them — living on the streets, carrying everything he owned in a single backpack. But he was different from the way most people imagine someone in that situation.
He was always smiling. Always helping others. Even when he had almost nothing, he'd share what little he had. He saw good in people that most people walked past. He saw possibility where others saw only wreckage.
They fell in love. Eight months later, Justin passed away. Eight months — the time it takes to build a life, to figure out if the person you're falling for feels the same way. He was 28 years old.
"He believed every person deserved a path forward. That belief didn't die with him — it became The Compass."
— Jennifer, FounderThe Compass exists to make sure no one else falls through the cracks. The Phoeni Project is our answer — not a shelter, not a band-aid, but a real community built from discarded materials that would otherwise go to landfill. A place where people can rebuild their lives with dignity.
